About the path I walk.

I practice the medicine of my ancestors and I'm deeply influenced by the Northern Traditional Shamanic ways.

I typically approach healing with questions like...
What would the ancestors say?
How would they see our modern challenges?

Norse mythology, Celtic traditions, and the Fae are among some of my primary touch points for ancestral knowledge.

I have been on this path for 7 years, in a formal sense. During this time I've traveled, studied and practiced with Contemporary Shaman and Soul Care Practitioners from different areas of the world.

Much of my training was done in Ireland as I embrace my Celtic heritage. Two years ago I completed an intensive training and have been helping clients individually since then.

My Way As A Shaman:

Of the many types of Shaman I am of the "warrior" type.  That means I do not shy away from darker sides and emotions when presented.

I also search out and track down information on the other side that benefits your souls growth.

While I am contemporary, most traditional shamanic healers are of the warrior kind.  This is different from a "love and light" approach or many of the others out there.  That is not to say everything has to be dark. It’s just that I will not step away from it if it is.

I come from a deep place of strength inside myself.

"If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself, if you want to eliminate the suffering in the world, then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself. Truly, the greatest gift you have is that of your own self-transformation"  -Lao Tzu

Grief led me to this path.
Healing keeps me here.

My grief as a child hardly prepared me for the loss that would come later in life . This gave way to spiritual awakening and healing.  I was called strongly to the Shamanic Path.

In healing myself I was called to help heal others.

Wearing the full mantel of "Shaman" or "Contemporary Shaman" is a powerful indeed. (Not to mention the word Shaman itself is loaded with many images and ideas.)  I used the term sparingly in these early years of practicing.  Often I refer to myself as a Soul Care Practitioner with shamanic abilities, training, experience, and tools.

I also have a doctorate degree in the science field.   But I do that only part time now that this spiritual work has grown so much.  So while I walk in the shamanic realms, strong science, logic and critical thinking skills also live and breathe in me.

"Four years ago I met Sammy (Sam) at a shamanic retreat in Ireland.  There are people that you meet and at first glance you just know they know.  Sam exudes peace, strength, and you know she sees your complete essence.  Seeing her standing at the Dublin airport that first encounter, I said, 'Now there is a shaman.'  We have shared as shamans, sisters, and cohorts learning and growing, something that seems rare these days.  There is no doubt I would trust my deepest dreams with her." -Teri C.
